At Priestley LGV our courses are tailored to suit the individual.

Some drivers are already experienced with larger vehicles and will probably need less hours behind the wheel than those who have only driven a car or small van.

To establish your needs we can offer an assessment drive in the lorry that will be used for your training and discuss with you the course that both you and we feel will be suitable for you to reach test standard.

ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TO TRAVEL.  The well known Frankies Cafe and Truckstop at Sutton Bridge offers good food and comfortable rooms for those who wish to stay in the area for the period of their training.  Contact Joyce or Alan on 07798 940 682 to book.

How To Become an LGV Driver

You must have a Category B (Car) Licence

Add a Provisional Entitlement for LGV (Cat C)

Take the Medical Examination

Pass theory and hazard perception test

Take an assessment drive to determine the length of course to suit your needs

Complete your training course with PRIESTLEY LGV

Take and pass the practical driving examination for Cat C (Rigid Vehicle)

Take a Cat C+E Course

Have Provisional C+E  (Artic and W&D) entitlement added to your Licence

Take a Cat C+E Course with PRIESTLEY LGV

Pass the Practical Training Test

You are now a fully fledged Trucker and ready to go to work.
